African development action with informed and engaged societies
After nearly 28 years, The Communication Initiative (The CI) Global is entering a new chapter. Following a period of transition, the global website has been transferred to the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in South Africa, where it will be administered by the Social and Behaviour Change Communication Division. Wits' commitment to social change and justice makes it a trusted steward for The CI's legacy and future.

Co-founder Victoria Martin is pleased to see this work continue under Wits' leadership. Victoria knows that co-founder Warren Feek (1953–2024) would have felt deep pride in The CI Global's Africa-led direction.

We honour the team and partners who sustained The CI for decades. Meanwhile, La Iniciativa de Comunicación (CILA) continues independently at cila.comminitcila.com and is linked with The CI Global site.

CI Staff Travels

This Group News site is dedicated to recording staff travels. We rarely comment on travels, either business or personal. It might be advantageous to see a post from time to time so that we know where people are travelling and with whom they might meet. Successes and frustrations of travel might be worth sharing as well, so please feel free to use this space for staff purposes.

As a sub group within this Group, we could have a weekly contest: "Where is Warren?" Members could guess his itinerary, and Victoria could name a winner each week. This would give us a test bed for making sure the Group news is functioning as it should each week.

I am editing this to make sure that group members understand that there are no prizes invovled, just name recognition.

Julie - Hi - excellent idea! Plus a quick check re this process. When you submitted this comment did you select from Notify me when new comments are posted either All Comments or Replies to my Comment? And if yes then (a ) are you gettng the notifications and (b ) how do they look?

I just switched from all comments to replies on the radio buttons belwo. i have been getting the comments and a notice about an addition to the group, so two emails per comment.
