SummaryText
The Alliance for Malaria Prevention (AMP) produced this set of behaviour change communication (BCC) training materials as part of AMP BCC workshops in September 2010 to support mass distribution of long-lasting insecticide treated nets (LLINS). The training materials include PowerPoint presentations and supporting documents in PDF format. According to AMP, scale-up efforts, especially mass campaigns, represent an unprecedented logistical challenge and financial investment. Even where planning and implementation lead to a successful distribution, evaluations of LLIN distribution campaigns show a consistent gap between LLIN ownership and LLIN use by beneficiaries. Strategic BCC is needed to ensure that LLINs distributed are used correctly and consistently, and thus ensure maximum effect from resources invested. For this reason, the training workshop and materials were developed.
AMP coordinates financial resources and implementation support to conduct mass distribution of LLINs as a part of national integrated health campaigns. This work includes developed core technical competencies, i.e. communications, technical, logistical, and monitoring and evaluation, to support mass scale-up activities.
The BBC training materials consist of the following PowerPoint presentations and supporting documents:
