After nearly 28 years, The Communication Initiative (The CI) Global is entering a new chapter. Following a period of transition, the global website has been transferred to the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in South Africa, where it will be administered by the Social and Behaviour Change Communication Division. Wits' commitment to social change and justice makes it a trusted steward for The CI's legacy and future.
 
Co-founder Victoria Martin is pleased to see this work continue under Wits' leadership. Victoria knows that co-founder Warren Feek (1953–2024) would have felt deep pride in The CI Global's Africa-led direction.
 
We honour the team and partners who sustained The CI for decades. Meanwhile, La Iniciativa de Comunicación (CILA) continues independently at lainiciativadecomunicacion.com and is linked with The CI Global site.

Second International Festival and Market of Documentaries of the South

Documentales del Sur (DOCUSUR) Market is calling for the presentation of documentary film projects for the pitching sessions (presentation to potential financial sponsors) which will take place on November 16 2007 during the International Film Festival of Documentaries of the South. The main objective of the pitching is for the documentary film projects that are at the development stage to get funding. For this purpose, the projects that are selected by the judges will be presented to a broad-based international panel of commissioning editors.

Eligibility Criteria

The projects must be at the development or script-writing stage and must be
made in a country in Africa, Asia or Latin America, or must deal with a
subject related to these regions, or must be on North-South relations. The DOCUSUR Market does not require that projects should
have a minimum of assured funding for entry.
