After nearly 28 years, The Communication Initiative (The CI) Global is entering a new chapter. Following a period of transition, the global website has been transferred to the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in South Africa, where it will be administered by the Social and Behaviour Change Communication Division. Wits' commitment to social change and justice makes it a trusted steward for The CI's legacy and future.
 
Co-founder Victoria Martin is pleased to see this work continue under Wits' leadership. Victoria knows that co-founder Warren Feek (1953–2024) would have felt deep pride in The CI Global's Africa-led direction.
 
We honour the team and partners who sustained The CI for decades. Meanwhile, La Iniciativa de Comunicación (CILA) continues independently at lainiciativadecomunicacion.com and is linked with The CI Global site.

USAID's MEASURE Evaluation Project is pleased to announce the regional workshop on “Impact Evaluation of HIV/AIDS and Health Programs,” for English speaking professionals. The workshop is sponsored by the School of Health Systems and Public Health (SHSPH) at the University of Pretoria, South Africa, in collaboration with MEASURE Evaluation. The two-week course will be held May 13 - 24, 2013 in Pretoria, South Africa.

Taught in English, the course is designed for mid-level health and population researchers, administrators, programme managers, and other professionals involved in the implementation and evaluation of population, health, and nutrition programmes. The course provides intensive, hands-on training in impact evaluation with an emphasis on statistical methods for professionals currently involved in related activities.

Registration information:

The tuition fee is ZAR 20,900, (approx. US$ 2500). The fee includes registration fees, course materials, daily refreshments, lunch, and transportation to and from the workshop venue. Travel and accommodation fees: ZAR 18,480 (approx.US$ 2200) per person and includes 13 nights’ accommodation and 2 airport transfers. The venue of the workshop will be in Pretoria, South Africa.

Applications must be submitted to University of Pretoria by April 10, 2013.

A limited number of fellowships from MEASURE Evaluation and Measurement, Learning & Evaluation (MLE) are available to qualified students.
