1. Governance - Accountability Course 2010 (March 8 - 19 2010) Arusha, Tanzania
According to the organisers of this workshop, MS Training Centre for Development Cooperation (MS-TCDC), this workshop will cover key issues and concepts around accountability as well as the skills and resources required in accountability work. The course seeks to teach participants to formulate plans and advise civil society organisations on approaches and strategies for promoting accountability at both the national and local levels in the pursuit of greater accountability in governance.
2. Anti-Corruption Course 2010 (August 28 - September 3 2010) Arusha, Tanzania
According to MS Training Centre for Development Cooperation (MS-TCDC), by the end of this course participants will have acquired competencies to combat corruption through a better understanding of the concepts and causes of corruption, the impact of corruption, and intervention strategies for redress. They will also be able to design and implement appropriate anti-corruption programmes and campaigns.
3. Good Governance General Course (July 19 - 30 2010) Pretoria, South Africa
Established in 2000, the Good Governance Programme (GGP) is a series of short courses, presented each year on the campus of the University of Pretoria in South Africa, dealing with issues related to good governance, with a special focus on the needs in the Southern African sub-region. This general course on good governance places emphasis on the links between human rights, public administration, and effective and responsible service delivery.
HEALTH COMMUNICATION
4. Advances in Behaviour Change Communication for HIV & AIDS, TB and Malaria (July 12 - 23 2010) Nairobi, Kenya
This course, offered by Centre for African Family Studies (CAFS), aims to equip programme managers working in behaviour change communication (BCC) programmes with skills to design and implement effective behaviour change communication interventions for HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria programmes.

5. Political Reporting (July 28 - 30 2010) Johannesburg, South Africa
According to the course organisers, the Institute for the Advancement of Journalism (IAJ), this 3-day political reporting course is designed to help participants to: understand the profundity of the South African political landscape; report on South African Parliament and extra-parliamentary politics; and understand international politics, South African foreign policy, and the role of South Africa in international bodies such as the United Nations and the African Union.
6. Barefoot Workshops Documentary Workshop (July 18 - August 14 2010) Cape Town, South Africa
Barefoot Workshops is a New York City-based, non-profit organisation that teaches individuals and organisations how to use digital video, new media, and the arts to transform their communities and themselves. This 4-week workshop is designed for new documentary filmmakers who want to launch their careers in film and television documentaries or for those with experience in some aspects of filmmaking who are looking to expand their skill, understanding, and mastery of the whole process. The class is structured for individuals who are interested in mixing travel, social activism, and documentary filmmaking.
HUMAN RIGHTS
7. Sexual Minority Rights Course (April 12 - 16 2010) Pretoria, South Africa
Part of the Good Governance Programme (GGP) at the Centre for Human Rights at the University of Pretoria in South Africa, this course is designed for government officials, members of civil society, academics, and legal practitioners from around Africa. The course is not primarily for people from lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex (LGBTI) communities or activists, but for "mainstream" non-governmental organisations and others who may need information, awareness raising, and capacity on the issues related to LGBTI.
8. Child Rights Course 2010 (April 12 - 16 2010) Arusha, Tanzania
According to the organisers of this workshop, MS Training Centre for Development Cooperation (MS-TCDC), by the end of the course, participants will have a deeper understanding of child rights and be able to apply those rights in practice when working with younger children.

NATURAL RESOURCE MANAGEMENT AND CLIMATE CHANGE
9. Land Rights, Food Rights and Climate Change Course 2010 (October 25 - November 5 2010) Arusha, Tanzania
According MS Training Centre for Development Cooperation (MS-TCDC), this course will give participants a deeper understanding of the nature of land and food rights, how to secure them, how to develop effective and reliable institutions for management of land and food rights, how to use land and food rights to empower the poor and reduce poverty, and the relationship between the absence/presence of these rights and climate change.
10. Participatory Forest Management Course 2010 (September 13 - 24 2010) Arusha, Tanzania
This course, run by MS Training Centre for Development Cooperation (MS-TCDC), seeks to enhance participant's understanding of the principles and issues related to Participatory Forest Management (PFM). In addition, participants will be able to plan, implement, and facilitate PFM processes.
ADVOCACY
11. Advanced HIV and AIDS Lobbying and Advocacy Skills Course: An International Capacity Building Workshop (April 5 - 9 2010) Kampala, Uganda
Organised by Regional Capacity Building Partners (RECABIP), this workshop will explore the skills required to effectively lobby and advocate on HIV and AIDS issues. The links between effective communication, advocacy, and lobbying will also be investigated. Participants will also exchange practical ideas, experiences, and knowledge related to strengthening HIV and AIDS-related lobbying and advocacy.
12. Developing Advocacy Strategies for Sexual and Reproductive Health and HIV & AIDS (June 7 - 18 2010) Nairobi, Kenya
This two-week course, organised by the Centre for African Family Studies (CAFS), seeks to provide hands-on experience in designing, developing, and setting indicators for monitoring and evaluating an advocacy campaign and strategy aimed at influencing policy change.
13. Policy Analysis, Advocacy and Human Rights: An International Capacity Building Workshop (December 6 - 10 2010) Maseru, Lesotho
The overall objective of this training, organised by Regional Capacity Building Partners (RECABIP), is to foster the acquisition of practical skills and shared understanding of the concepts, practice, and principles of policy analysis, advocacy, and human rights in development work.

14. Developing and Implementing an Effective Knowledge Management Strategy (September 20 - 24 2010) Nairobi, Kenya
According to the organisers of this course, the Centre for African Studies (CAFS), one of the biggest challenges within an organisation is how to manage, document, use, and share the knowledge that employees have. The purpose of this one-week course is to build the capacity of non-profit organisations in knowledge management by equipping participants with the knowledge, information, and skills to develop and carry out an effective knowledge management strategy.
15. Gender Equality Course (September 23 - 30 2010) Pretoria, South Africa
Established in 2000, the Good Governance Programme (GGP) is a series of short courses, presented each year on the campus of the University of Pretoria in South Africa, dealing with issues related to good governance, with a special focus on the needs in the Southern African sub-region. This course on Gender Equality will explore issues such as best practices aimed at promoting gender equality at global, regional, and national levels, and contemporary developments impacting on gender equality such as HIV/AIDS, participation in decision-making, the role of women in peace-keeping, and women as refugees.
16. Strengthening Prevention and Response to Gender-Based Violence in Refugee and IDP Settings (April 12 - 23 2010) Nairobi, Kenya
The Centre for African Family Studies (CAFS) is organising this two-week course which is designed to provide practical skills in designing and implementing interagency and multi-sectoral programmes and interventions to respond to gender-based violence in the community and especially among populations affected by armed conflict.
17. Mainstreaming Gender and Rights in HIV and AIDS Programmes (July 5 - 9 2010) Nairobi, Kenya
This course, run by the Regional Capacity Building Partners (RECABIP) will cover issues such as gender mainstreaming in reproductive health and HIV and AIDS programmes, sexual reproductive health and rights, advocacy as tool in gender and rights mainstreaming, gender policy approaches, and social mobilisation approaches.
